TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Rabat

Arrival to Casablanca. Meet and greet at Casablanca airport. Transfer to Rabat, the capital of Morocco and one of the Imperial Cities. Check in at the hotel. City tour of wonderful city. Begin with the Kasbah of the Udayas. This kasbah is a fortification constructed on a hill, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.

Overnight in Rabat.

Day 2: Rabat – Meknes – Volubilis – Fes (B)

After breakfast, continue the city tour of Rabat. Stop first at Mohammed V Mausoleum. Inside the mausoleum, mosaics rise from the marble floor to a ceiling of gold leaf and hand-carved cedar wood, while the three ground-floor tombs are carved from white onyx. Next to the Mausoleum, stop at Hassan Tower, which is the towering minaret of the Hassan Mosque. Transfer to Meknes, the fifth largest city of the kingdom. Meknes was the capital of Morocco under the reign of Moulay Ismail (1672–1727), before it was relocated to Marrakesh. The city tour of Meknes includes the massive Bab El Mansour gate. Enjoy an optional lunch at a local restaurant. The city tour of Meknes includes also the Harri Souani stables, the medina ramparts, and the entrance to the Royal Palace. Continue along to the UNESCO-sponsored Roman ruins in Volubilis where you will have a guided tour. Transfer to Fes for overnight.

Day 3: Fes (B)

After breakfast, enjoy a guided city tour of the spiritual capital of Morocco, Fes. The first stop of the morning is a visit to the entrance of the largest royal palace in Morocco. This palatial complex rests in the center of the Fes El-Jedid area and is surrounded by high walls with an intricate and elaborately decorated gateway that is permanently closed. The next stop will be the old Medina (Fes el Bali). This medieval centre of Fez has not changed for centuries. Its narrow alleys house hundreds of merchants and craftsmen selling a range of products such as dates, fish, spices, copper urns and musical instruments. One of the most interesting sites in Fez is the Leather Souq and the oldest leather tannery in the world. The tannery dates back at least nine centuries. In the medina you will visit the Jamaa Al-Karaouine (the world’s first established university) and a Medersa (a Koranic school).

Overnight in Fes.

Day 4: Fes – Ifrane – Erfoud – Merzouga (BD)

After breakfast, leave Fes heading to the heart of the desert. Stop first at Ifrane, a charming town and ski resort in the Middle Atlas region of Morocco. Continue through many Amazigh (Berber) villages before getting to Midelt where you will stop for an optional lunch. Leave through Ziz River, passing through a series of fortified villages before getting to Erfoud. Enjoy an optional 4×4 transfer to the heart of the Sahara desert. Dinner and overnight in a charming auberge by the dunes.Optional overnight in a standard or deluxe desert camp (tents).

Day 5: Merzouga – Tinghir (BD)

After breakfast, enjoy an optional early morning sunrise camel ride along the golden sand dunes in Merzouga. Return to the hotel for breakfast before driving to Tinghir along Rissani and Tinjdad. Tinghir is a gorgeous, 40km oasis, which boasts one of the largest palm groves in the country. Walk above the Todra Gorge, a 300m wall, carved deep into the High Atlas Mountains. Optional lunch a local restaurant. Enjoy an afternoon tour of the old village and a short walk in the oasis.

Dinner and overnight in Tinghir.

Day 6: Tinghir – Dades – Kellat M’Gouna – Ouarzazate BD

After breakfast, transfer to Ouarzazate along Dades Valley and Kelaat M’Gouna. The drive is spectacular, with hundreds of Kasbahs lining the route, winding through stunning desert landscapes, villages, palm groves. Dades valley is known as valley of figs. Optional lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to Kelaat M’Gouna, a large village which is famous for cultivating roses. Expect to find many fine, rose-infused products there. Transfer to Ouarzazate, also known as “Morocco’s Hollywood,” for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech B

After breakfast, city tour of Ouarzazate with Taourirt Kasbah, which is considered one of the most beautiful kasbahs in Morocco. Next, visit the film studios where some of the most famous desert landscapes were and are still being shot. Continue on to the spectacular fortress of Ait Ben Haddou. The village is a great example of earthen clay architecture that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Ait Ben Haddou is an iconic landscape immortalized in such films as “The Man Who Would Be King”, “Jesus of Nazareth”, “The Last Temptation of Christ”, “Gladiator ”, “Son of God”. After the visit of Ait Ben Haddou, transfer to Marrakech crossing the High Atlas Mountains along the magnificent Tiz In Tichka pass for overnight.

Day 8: Marrakech (city tour) B

After breakfast, enjoy city tour of Marrakech. Visit to the Kotoubia Mosque. The mosque is the largest in Marrakech and one of the oldest mosques in the world. Continue to the world-famous Jemaa el Fna Square, which houses arrays of food, snake charmers, local musicians, and fortune-tellers. There’s nowhere on Earth like the Jemaa el Fna, the square at the heart of old Marrakesh. Your next stop is the Bahia Palace, and the Saadian Tombs. The Saadian tombs in Marrakech date back from the time of the sultan Ahmad al-Mansur (1578-1603). The tombs were discovered in 1917 and were restored by the Beaux-arts service. The mausoleum comprises the interments of about sixty members of the Saadi Dynasty that originated in the valley of the Draa River.

Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 9: Marrakech – Casablanca B

After breakfast, transfer to Casablanca. Enjoy an orientation tour beginning with an outside visit of Hassan II mosque, the largest mosque in the country and the 7th largest in the world. Continue to Ain Diab Corniche for a pleasant stroll along the coast. Stop is Mohammed V Square in the city center.

Overnight in Casablanca.

Day 10: Casablanca airport B

After breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight back home.

TOUR ITINERARY

DAY 1 – THURSDAY – LISBON-CACERES-SEVILLA

Departure from Lisbon towards the border with Spain for visiting to the region of Extremadura, and arrival to Caceres. Visiting Plaza Mayor and walking through the old city with the famous medieval quarter, very well preserved and considered as one of the World Heritage places. Arrival to Sevilla (South Spain).

Dinner and overnight in Sevilla.

DAY 2 – FRIDAY – SEVILLA

Half board at the hotel. Morning panoramic sightseeing tour of the city that will include visits to Barrio de Santa Cruz, Park of María Luisa and Plaza de España. Optional Artistic tour, including the Royal Alcazar Palace.

Afternoon at leisure.

DAY 3 – SATURDAY – SEVILLA-RONDA-MARBELLA

After breakfast, departure to the Route of the White Villages and Ronda. Free time. Continuation to Costa del Sol.

Dinner and overnight in Marbella.

DAY 4 – SUNDAY – MARBELLA-TARIFA-TANGIER-FES (Ferry)

After breakfast, departure to Tarifa. Boarding the ferry for crossing the Strait of Gibraltar towards Tangier.

Arrival and continuation of the tour to Fes. Dinner and overnight in Fes.

DAY 5 – MONDAY – FES

Half board. After breakfast, a city tour of Fes awaits you, including the 7 Gates of the Royal Palace; Jewish Quarter or Mellah; the Gate of Bab Bou Jeloud to the Medina; Medersa, oldest University of the world; Karyouine Mosque.

Free time to explore the city on your own.

DAY 6 – TUESDAY – FES-MEKNES-MARRAKESH

After breakfast, departure to Meknes. Panoramic sightseeing tour of this old walled Imperial city, with the beautiful Bab El Mansour Gate; continuing through the Mid-Atlas Mountains towards Marrakesh.

Dinner and overnight in Marrakesh.

DAY 7 – WEDNESDAY – MARRAKESH

Half board. After breakfast, city tour of the Imperial city during which you will be visiting the Koutubia, the Twin Mosque of the Giralda of Seville, the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace and the Medina.

Free time to explore the city.

DAY 8 – THURSDAY – MARRAKESH-CASABLANCA-RABAT

After breakfast, departure to Casablanca. Panoramic tour of Casablanca, the most populated city in Morocco which includes Anfa Boulevard, Nations Square and residential areas. Continue our sighseeing tour to the exterior of Hassan II Great Mosque, second in size and importance after Meca. Free time to explore the city. Continue to Rabat.

Dinner and overnight in Rabat.

DAY 9 – FRIDAY – RABAT-TANGIER

Breakfast. Rabat, capital of the Kingdom of Morocco and official residence of the King. City tour includes the Royal Palace, Mausoleum of Mohamed V and the Hassan Tower, minaret and symbol of this city. Free time for visiting the spectacular Kasbh of Oudaias.

Arrival to Tangier, time at leisure.

Dinner and overnight in Tangier.

DAY 1 – SATURDAY – TANGIER-MARBELLA (Ferry)

Breakfast. Departure from hotel and boarding the ferry for crossing the Strait, heading back towards Spain. Arrival to Costa del Sol.

DAY 1 1– SUNDAY – MARBELLA-GRANADA

After breakfast, departure to Granada. Sightseeing tour includes the impressive Alhambra with a beautiful Nazari Palaces and the Generalife.

DAY 12 – MONDAY – GRANADA-TOLEDO-MADRID

Continue to Meknes, with a brief stop at Moulay Idriss, a sacred Islamic town and the Roman Ruins of Volubilis. Tour around Meknes, the “Moroccan Versailles,” before reaching Fes.

DAY 3: FES

A full day tour of Fes includes the medieval Medina and religious Islamic centers, Medersas, the Karaouine Mosque, the University, as well as the Nejjarin Fountain. Visit the famous souks (markets) of Fes.*For those continuing on the 10-day tour, see the Kasbah Trail Extension.

DAY 4: FES / MARRAKECH

Depart to Marrakech, heading across the Atlas Mountains traveling via Berber villages and small towns.

DAY 5: MARRAKECH

A full day tour of Marrakech, founded by the Almoravides dynasty at the end of the 12th century. Discover the souks and the Djemaa el Fna Square. Visit Saadyines Tombs, Menara and Agdal gardens, the Koutoubia, and the Bahia Palace. This evening, enjoy dinner at a typical Moroccan restaurant with an accompanying folklore show.

DAY 6: MARRAKECH / CASABLANCA

Morning at leisure. Later travel to Casablanca where you may spend time shopping, walking or relaxing at the Corniche.
