7 May 2023  SUN Day 1: Rome

Arrival to Rome.  Check in at your Hotel in Rome. Transfer from the airport to Hotel in Rome.

At evening, Rome turns into one of the most romantic places ever: join us on this tour and enjoy the Eternal City colored by the magical hues of the setting sun!

In a group of maximum 20 people and led by an expert guide, we will take you on a truly pleasant stroll along the stunning city center of Rome.

Reach the meeting point on your own to meet us and start this walking tour with your guide.

You will walk along the streets of the characteristic area of the Jewish Ghetto, one of Rome’s most beautiful neighborhood’s, full with history and with a real Roman atmosphere. Rome’s Ghetto is the second most ancient one in Italy, after the one in Venice, and it truly is the heart and soul of the authentic Roman cuisine!

As you know, one of Rome’s most famous symbols are its beautiful fountains, and one of the prettiest is the Turtle Fountain (Fontana delle Tartarughe), located in Piazza Mattei!

Get ready to walk into Piazza Della Rotonda and enjoy a breathtaking view of the Pantheon, the former temple of Marcus Agrippa, later converted into a church: it is the only ancient Roman temple remained untouched through the centuries! It is simply stunning at night when it is not crowded and peace and quiet surround it.

Next Stop? Close your eyes and throw a coin over your right shoulder straight into the Trevi Fountain: rumor has it that if you do, your will come back to Rome someday, for sure!

Our tour will continue towards Piazza di Spagna, one of the city’s most popular piazze (squares), known to be the perfect setting just at the bottom of the iconic Spanish Steps. Walk up this famous stairway and take the most out the lovely view you will enjoy from the top!

After an intense and gratifying walk, we thought of a great reward for you all: come with us and relax enjoying a creamy and tasty Gelato. It’s on us!

Pompeii and its Ruins with Meeting Point

Hometown to Nero’s wife, the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Pompeii disappeared under a thick layer of volcanic ashes, blasted over the city as a consequence of a devastating volcanic eruption which killed its inhabitants making it disappear for about 1500 years, until it was rediscovered as one of the best-preserved ancient spots of the world.

Frozen at the moment it was buried, this unique archeological site provides a unique snapshot of the Ancient Roman city life. Walking along the streets of Pompeii, you’ll discover houses, bakeries, and shops and you’ll catch a glimpse into the everyday lives of the Ancients.

Join us on this full-day excursion: you can comfortably wait for our pick-up service at your centrally located hotel, or reach us at our meeting point.

You’ll meet your tour leader and, as stunning Naples is on the way from Rome to Pompeii, we’ll pass through it and have a brief stop.

A visit to Pompeii demands lots of walking, so wear a pair of comfortable shoes and don’t worry: before entering the ancient city, we’ll have lunch with an authentic Neapolitan pizza and a drink.

Once in Pompeii, you’ll meet your local professional guide, who’ll provide you with earphones and an audio receiver and will tell you everything about Mount Vesuvius’ cataclysmic eruption in 79 AD and how it destroyed this big ancient city. At the end of the visit, we’ll board our bus and travel back to Rome.

11 May 2023 THU Day 5: Florence:

Guided Visit to Accademia and Uffizi Gallery Galleries in a Small Group tour

Accademia: Total immersion in the art of Michelangelo to know his most renowned work, the “David”, and other important works of art such as ”I Prigioni” and ”San Matteo” and the “Palestrina Pietà”. The young Michelangelo carved the David from a huge block of rough marble in three years, creating an imposing sculpture of absolute beauty, an icon of the renaissance model. He depicted a magnificent nude young man at the height of his physical vigor, whose intense expression of strength and courage, which originated from an absolute faith in God, roses as a symbol of power and invincibility of the Florentine Republic at the time of its maximum splendor.

Uffizi: You can’t leave Florence without visiting one of the most famous art galleries in the world. Here you can admire numerous works of art by Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello, Giotto, Cimabue, Masaccio and many others.Among the precious exhibition halls of the Gallery, the most renowned one contains the refined works by Botticelli, among which the absolute masterpieces: “Primavera” and “Birth of Venus”. The latter painting, the icon of the museum, represents the allegory of the birth of the goddess emerging from the sea foam and symbolizes the ideal of beauty as an expression of purity and spiritual quality, typical of the Renaissance Neoplatonic aesthetics.

The guided tour ends at the Uffizi Terrace where you can enjoy an amazing and exclusive view of the city’s most important monuments. Once the guided tour is over, it is possible to stay in the museum.

Depart for Siena, driving through the lovely Chianti vineyards, getting there while the town is still immersed in early morning drowsiness; the perfect time of day to wander around the pedestrian-friendly heart of this beautiful hilltop town, drenched in history. Upon arrival in Siena our local guide will take you on a guided walking tour along the small medieval streets and squares, passing the oldest bank in the world, and the Piazza del Campo – site of the famous 600-year-old Palio horse-race, to the spectacular Cathedral. During your free time, stroll through Siena at your own pace. A short journey then takes us to a family run wine-farm in the heart of theT uscan countryside. Here we shall have a delicious,traditional Tuscan lunch served with typical wines from our region. After lunch, departure for San Gimignano, Unesco world heritage, famous for the still intact mediaeval town planning. It is often nicknamed the “Manhattan of the Middle Ages”because its famous tall, narrow towers create a skyline that looks a bit like a modern city. Here you have free time to explore the town centre, the charming craftsmen’s shops along the cobbled stone streets and small squares.From San Gimignano, we drive past hilltop hamlets, or little churches, scattered over some of the most beautiful and enchanting countryside. We finally wind down the hillsides towards the coast, to Pisa, our last destination for the day. Getting off the coach, we reach the Field of Miracles, a green grass field dominated by the dazzling white buildings of the Cathedral or Duomo,the Tower and the Baptistery – exquisite examples of Pisan Romanesque architecture: the Leaning Tower is almost 56 meters tall (about 183 ft). It leans at about 4 degrees, making it one of the most famous and iconic buildings in the world. You are in one of the most renowned places in the world: revel in it, take creative photographs or wander off down the local streets.

Enjoy a half-day tour of the impressive city of Milan. Take a look at the medieval Sforza Castle. An impressive medieval Castle and fortress, one of the most impressive urban castles in Europe. The Sforzesco was once residence for the ruling family of Milan and now hosts several of the city’s museums and art collections. Visit the splendid Duomo Cathedral, a striking example of Gothic art and the largest church in Italy. Try to count the statue crammed onto its roof and façade, there are more than 3.200 of them, before following your guide in the visit of the interior. Exit the Duomo and walk inside Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II shopping gallery, a 19th century glass vaulted shopping arcade. Brimming with fashionable shops and cafes, it used to be the connecting path between the Cathedral and the La Scala Opera House, so the ladies could stay dry in their way to the theatre in case of rain. At the end of the Galleria you arrive at Milan’s most famous Opera House: the fabulous La Scala theatre. Founded in 1778 and still in use, some of the world’s greatest musicians and opera singers have performed here including Pavarotti, Maria Callas and Giuseppe Verdi. Your entrance ticket provides 24 hours admission to the theatre and museum, so you can return the next day.
