09:00: After breakfast, the local guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel. Our local guide will tell you about the lifestyle, history and culture of Lisbon and give you useful tips. You will visit the Belem Tower (outside) and the Jeronimos Monastery (church) – evidence of the Age of Discovery. The Hieronymite Monastery, at the entrance to the harbor of Lisbon, whose construction began in 1502, is the finest example of Portuguese art. The nearby Belém Tower, built in honor of Vasco da Gama’s expedition, is a reminder of the great maritime discoveries that laid the foundations of the modern world.
Return to the hotel.

Day 3 Lisbon – Sintra, Cascais and Guincho

09:00: After breakfast, you can meet your guide and driver and start your exciting journey to Sintra, Cascais and Guincho. We will start our journey with a visit to one of the most beautiful places in Portugal, the Cultural Landscape of Sintra, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Upon arrival, we will visit the Pena Palace, located at the top of the Serra Sintra and one of the most important examples of Romantic architecture in Portugal. This palace is a very opulent place, with façades of bright and exciting colors. At the top of the mountain, you will also have the opportunity to see the Moorish castle. After this visit, we will go to the historical center of Sintra with beautiful streets. On the way to Lisbon we will enjoy panoramic views of Cabo da Roca and Guincho, the westernmost place in Europe. Back in Lisbon along the coast, we will arrive in Cascais where you will take a walk along the coast. Return to the hotel.

09:00: After breakfast, you can meet your guide and driver and start your exciting journey to Fatima, Batalha, Obidos and Nazare. We will start our visit with a trip to Fatima, one of the most religious places in the country. The Sanctuary of Fatima is one of the most famous sanctuaries in the world, dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima. In the “Holy City” you will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity.
Next, we will continue our trip to the village of Batalha, where we will have the opportunity to visit the beautiful monastery of Batalha, built in 1386, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. After that we will continue our visit to Óbidos where you will visit the center as well as the Óbidos castle where you will be able to taste the famous local liqueur Ziginha. On the way back to Lisbon we will visit the town of Nazare, known as the fishing village, where you will have the opportunity to visit the center of the village. Return to the hotel.

08:00: After breakfast, departure to Porto. It will take you about 3:30. On the way to Porto you will make a stop in Coimbra. The most popular attractions are the Joanin Library, the University of Coimbra, the Monastery of the Holy Cross in Coimbra, the Old Cathedral of Se Vella, the Almedina Gate and Tower, the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra.
Upon arrival, your guide will meet you to start your tour of Porto. First we will visit the Lello bookstore as one of the most beautiful libraries in the world. Rumor has it that J.K. Rowling’s inspiration for writing Harry Potter began in Porto, especially in this library.
The Church of Clerigos, famous for its high bell tower, “Torre dos Clerigos”, which can be seen from almost anywhere in the city, is considered one of the most characteristic symbols of Porto. Next, we will visit the Sao Bento train station, the most central station in the city. In addition to the great location, the station is also very beautiful, with 19th century architecture and the famous Portuguese tiles (Azulejos) and Porto Cathedral, a Roman Catholic church located in the historic center of Porto city. Finally, we will visit the Church of San Francisco, the most outstanding Gothic monument in Porto, which is also known for its outstanding Baroque interior decoration and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Free time for lunch (get ready for a late lunch). You will then have free time to walk along the river bank and then return to Lisbon. Arrival time will be around 20:00.

DAY 1 PORTO
Arrive at Porto airport, meet your Tour Guide, and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, take a Mini-cruise on the Douro River.

DAY 2 PORTO-BRAGA- GUIMARÃES- PORTO
After breakfast, depart to Braga, the “Portuguese Rome”, where one of the most remarkable monuments of Portuguese architecture is found: The Church of Bom Jesus and its monumental staircase. Lunch is on your own. Then, we depart towards Guimarães, a charming city full of history, for a tour of the town.
Back to the hotel for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
DAY 3 PORTO- AVEIRO- FATIMA
This morning enjoy a panoramic tour of Porto, followed by a visit to a local wine cellar to enjoy a Port wine tasting. Lunch is on your own. Then, we depart to Aveiro, nicknamed “the Portuguese Venice”. Walk to the “Ria”, surrounded by canals and salt marshes with curious colored boats with the prow raised. Canals crisscross the city to create a labyrinth of waterways. From the docks, you can see the odd beauty of the boats and their multicolored paintings. Participate in a Workshop to discover the famous typical pastry of the region, “ovo mole,” and enjoy a tasting. We then head towards Fatima.

DAY 4 FATIMA-COIMBRA- BATALHA- FATIMA
After breakfast depart towards Coimbra, home to one of the oldest universities in Europe. Visit the Library and University of Coimbra (subject to availability) followed by a city tour and some free time. Lunch on your own during the tour. Continue towards Batalha, where the most important Gothic Monastery of Portugal is located. Visit the Church of the Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória, a World Heritage and symbol of the independence of Portugal. Then, we will return to Fatima and visit the sanctuary, one of the world centers of Christian faith and pilgrimages.
Afterwards, head back to the hotel for dinner and overnight. (B,D)
DAY 5 FATIMA- NAZARÉ -OBIDOS –LISBON
Enjoy some free time this morning before leaving Fatima for Nazaré, a picturesque Fishing village at the foot of a steep cliff. The most typical and colorful beach of Portugal will seduce you with its ancestral traditions where women dressed in black wear up to seven petticoats. Lunch on your terms. Afterwards, depart for Óbidos, a fortified medieval town with narrow streets and ramparts that encircle the city. You will have a tasting of the famous Ginjinha (cherry liqueur). Continue towards Lisbon.

DAY 6 LISBON – SINTRA -CABO DA ROCA -ESTORIL –CASCAIS- LISBON
This morning we head to Sintra, where youwill discover mountaintop medieval fortifications, vibrant fairytale castles, lush forests, and eccentric labyrinthine gardens, all in one location! It was, for six centuries, the favorite residence of the rulers and remains a resort town for large Lisbon families who Coimbra Sintra have charming “quintas” or elegant palaces there. Visit the Sintra Palace. Do not forget to taste Sintra’s delicious queijada (tartlet), the specialty of the city. Lunch on your own. Then we head to the steep cliffs of Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of the European continent. Finally, depart for the “Sun Coast” and its beaches: the cosmopolitan Estoril, a sandy beach well known for the quality of its distractions, and Cascais, a traditional fishing port, but also a very lively resort. Admiring the beautiful bay of Cascais is a moment not to lose.

DAY 7 LISBON
After breakfast, take a tour of Lisbon,undoubtedly one of the most beautiful capitals of Europe. We will visit the Belém district, whose many prestigious monuments recall the century of great maritime discoveries: The Monument of the Discoveries, the elegant Tower of Belém (outside), Fortress of the XV built on the Tagus, and the Church of Hieronymites Monastery, testimony of thanks to Vasco da Gama for the discovery of the spice route to India. A short stop for gourmands for a tasting of the famous “Pastel de Belem” (typical Pastry of Lisbon). Lunch on your own. In the afternoon, you will go to the city center and the business center: the Rossio and the Place du Commerce.

Day 6. Porto – Salamanca
Breakfast. Transfer to Spain. A tour of Salamanca, where the ol-dest university in Spain is located, on the benches of which Cer-vantes sat. Lope de Vega, Calderon. A walk through the historic center with a tour of the Roman bridge, House with shells and majestic Renaissance palaces. Dinner. Overnight stay.
Day 7. Avila – Segovia
Breakfast. Excursion to Avila, the city of St. Theresa, surrounded by ancient Roman walls, keeping calm of many monasteries and churches. Excursion to Segovia with a tour of the Cathedral, the Aqueduct and the Alcazar Castle, the prototype of the Cinde-rella Castle in Disneyland, where Isabella of Castile entered the throne.

Day 1 – Sunday Madrid
After clearing customs in Madrid you will be met by our representative and escorted to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to rest and recuperate from the overnight trip. However, if you feel that a busy afternoon is better to pass the time you have the option of our 5-hour afternoon excursion to the magnificent city of Toledo. Overnight at the hotel.

Around 7:30 pm you will be picked-up at your hotel for a panoramic tour through the lighted streets of the city before arriving at Tablao Flamenco Café de Chinitas, located in the basement of an old and beautiful palace built in the XVI century, where we will attend to a magnificent show of Flamenco songs and dances, while you have your tasty dinner.
After the show, return to your hotel. [D]
Day 2 – Monday Madrid
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning Madrid panoramic city tour *; find the medieval origins of the city, like the Arabic fortress, at the Barrio de la Morería, famous for its historical buildings. Drive through the courtesan district of the Hapsburgs characterized by Phillip II and its Renaissance and Baroque style buildings, Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and Plaza de la Villa; the Madrid of the Bourbons and the complex town planning schemes of Charles III, the Royal Palace, Cibeles and Neptuno Fountains and the Puerta de Alcalá. Admire the XIX C. works such as Prado Museum. The contemporary Madrid with areas such as Gran Vía, Castellana, the district of Salamanca, Plaza Castilla and Parque del Oeste, as well as commercial and financial areas of Modern Madrid, the emblematic Las Ventas Bullring and the Santiago Bernabéu Football Stadium. A stop will be made at the famous “Hard Rock Café” to enjoy a free drink. The afternoon is free to explore the wonders that the city has to offer.

Day 3 – Tuesday Madrid, Avila, Salamanca, Oporto
Breakfast. Transfer to the bus terminal, located in the underground parking of the Plaza de Oriente for an 08:30 am departure to Avila, a city that preserves its medieval walls. Then continue to Salamanca where you’ll have free time in this World Heritage City to visit the University and Plaza Mayor and other jewels of great architectural and artistic value.
Departure to the Portuguese border and continuation to Oporto for overnight accommodation. [B]
Day 4 – Wednesday Oporto
After breakfast enjoy a panoramic sightseeing tour of Porto, also catalogued as a World Heritage city. We admire the Cathedral, Stock Exchange building and Santa Clara church. In the afternoon you have the possibility to take an optional tour to Vila Nova de Gaia to visit to a famous winery with tasting of its world-famous “port wine”. Accommodation. [B]
Day 5 – Thursday Oporto, Coimbra, Fatima
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to Coimbra, home to one of the oldest universities in Europe and the birthplace of the Romantic “Fado de Coimbra”. Free time in the city before leaving to Fatima, a center of the Christian Faith and World Pilgrimage Sanctuary with its impressive Basilica in Cova da Iria, the place where the Virgin Mary appeared to thee young shepherds. The Chapel of the Apparitions, heart of the sanctuary guards the tombs of the three shepherds, Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta. Tonight you may to attend the procession of candles. Accommodation. [B]
Day 6 – Friday Fatima, Batalha, Nazaré, Alcobaça, Lisbon
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to the Batalha Monastery, a masterpiece of Gothic and Manueline styles considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue to the picturesque fishing town of Nazaré. Free time and continue to Alcobaça (World Heritage) visit the 12-century church and admire the tombs of Pedro and Inés de Castro before continuing to Lisbon to check-in at your hotel. Accommodation. If you feel in good shape you may take the optional night tour to attend a Fado show, the typical Portuguese song and music. [B]
Day 7 – Saturday Lisbon
Breakfast at the hotel before a morning sightseeing tour of the ancient Olissipo, driving through its main squares and avenues, Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, Coach Museum, Monument to the Discoverers, Marquis of Pombal Square, Liberty Avenue. Afternoon at leisure for you to catch the nostalgic corners of Alfama Quarter, the old city gathered next to its Castle, with old buildings nested in narrow twisting “Ruas” full of color housing the genuine “tabernas” where Fado sounds as a missing past. Day 8 – Sunday Lisbon, Caceres, Madrid
Departure to Caceres classified as World Heritage Site because of the city’s blend of Roman, Islamic, Northern Gothic and Italian Renaissance architecture. Walk through its Plaza Mayor and the Old Town with its famous Medieval Quarter. Continue to Madrid for check-in and accommodation at the hotel. [B]
Day 9 – Monday Madrid, USA
Have breakfast at your hotel and be ready for the transfer to Madrid Airport for your flight to the USA. [B]
