Morning cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting). Enjoy the architecture of The Castle and other historic buildings. Continue to the Malay Quarter, and marvel at the ice-cream colors of the quaint Bo-Kaap homes. Also visit a professional diamond cutter. This afternoon continue on to the Cape Winelands. Explore this world-renowned region and learn about the wine-making process in a fascinating cellar tour and tasting. Visit the beautiful town of Stellenbosch, home to one of the country’s prestigious universities, as well as fine art galleries and historic architecture.

DAY 3: CAPE TOWN – CAPE PENINSULA
Full day exploring the Cape Peninsula. Drive along the False Bay coastline via Boulders Beach (penguin colony) to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Cape Point, at the tip of the peninsula, is regarded as the meeting place of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. Return to Cape Town via the scenic Atlantic Coastline.

Fly to the Greater Kruger Park area and enjoy your first afternoon game drive. Later, experience a delicious dinner under the starlit sky.

Roam the reserve in open 4WD vehicles in search of elephant, leopard, cheetah, kudu, giraffe, Cape buffalo, hippo and other species. Your mid-morning walk is an opportunity to feel the pulse of Africa through the soles of your feet and experience the bushveld at close quarters.

Drive through the fertile central highlands to our lodge on the flanks of Kenya’s highest mountain and secreted deep within her largest forest reserve. Fall asleep to the symphony of the African night or sit in stillness and observe the fascinating interplay of the animals as they arrive to drink, bath and forage around the water hole.

The contrast of riverine and desert habitats puts the camp in the unique position of a wide variety of flora and fauna. In the dry season, April to December, Southern Africa’s largest wildebeest and zebra migration arrives from the pans, and elephant frequent the Boteti having traveled great distances from the northern areas.

It is also currently home to the largest population of elephant in Kenya, with Loisaba serving as a key migration corridor. Laikipia boasts Kenya’s most stable lion population, as well as the seldom seen Greater Kudu and Wild Dog, and endemic northern Kenya species such as the gerenuk and Grevy’s Zebra, alongside a wealth of other wildlife.

Fly to the Masai Mara. Arrive and transfer to your camp with game viewing en route. DAY 1: NAIROBI
Upon an early morning arrival into Nairobi you will be met and transferred to the Ol Sereni Hotel. This afternoon you will be collected from the hotel for an “Out of Africa” experience. Follow in the footsteps of Karen Blixen as you travel towards the Ngong Hills, you will feel swept immediately onto the film set of Out of Africa the moment you arrive. The old colonial farmhouse is simple, housing a few items that Karen Blixen chose and once enjoyed herself. There are also the colorful gardens to explore, where several old coffee machines have laid untouched for decades. From here visit the Giraffe Center, where the highly endangered Rothschild giraffe can be admired. With an elevated viewing-cum-feeding platform, this tour is wonderful for children. DAY 2: NAIROBI SAMBURU NATIONAL RESERVE
This morning you will transfer to Wilson airport for your scheduled flight to Samburu. You will be met by the lodge vehicle and taken to the lodge arriving mid morning. After lunch you will embark on your first game drive of your safari, returning to the lodge in the late afternoon.

After an early breakfast depart with a picnic lunch and travel south through Isiolo, crossing the northernmost foothills of Mount Kenya, until you get to the town of Nanyuki. Here you’ll head west to Nyahururu, still known to many as Thomson’s Falls for its 237-foot cascade. Now travel in a southerly direction to Lake Naivasha, arriving at the lodge by late afternoon. Overnight at Great Rift Valley lodge.

DAY 5: LAKE NAIVASHA LAKE NAKURU
This morning depart for a morning game drive to Lake Nakuru National Park and return back to the lodge for lunch and the remaining of the afternoon will be spent at your leisure to enjoy all the local activities offered.

DAY 6: LAKE NAIVASHA MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
After breakfast, you drive to the Naivasha Ebony Curio Emporium, the largest of its kind in the world, where one can watch expert craftsmen working. It is fascinating! This is where the country’s best work can be purchased at factory prices. Return back to the lodge for lunch before being transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. Here you will be met by a camp vehicle and taken to the camp to drop off your luggage before going out on a game drive, returning back to the camp as the sunsets. Overnight at Mara Intrepids Camp.

Arrive to Nairobi, Kenya, where you are met and escorted to your hotel. Overnight Ole Sereni, Deluxe room. Transfer to Nairobi Wilson Airport for your morning scheduled flight to the Samburu National Reserve. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your camp. Afternoon game drive and village visit. Overnight Samburu Intrepids. Samburu Intrepids Camp’s location deep inside Samburu National Reserve guarantees close encounters with the region’s wildlife. Situated on the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River in the arid heart of Samburu National Reserve, Samburu Intrepids looks out over riverbanks where herds of elephant, buffalo and zebra come daily to drink – together with the rarer ‘northern species’ of reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx and long-necked gerenuk antelope. Morning transfer to Samburu airstrip for your scheduled flight to the Masai Mara. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your camp. Enjoy open vehicle game drives both daytime and at night along with bush walks. During the Peak Season (Jul-Oct), one full day game drive into the Masai Mara National Reserve is also included. Overnight Encounter Mara Safari Camp. Comprised of 50,000 acres North-East of the Masai Mara National Reserve, Mara Naboisho Conservancy provides an exclusive safari experience. The land includes contributions from over 500 Masai landowners and conservancy fees are directed back to these landowners, providing them with a sustainable livelihood. The Mara Naboisho Conservancy also limits the number of tourists who may enter the area, thereby reducing the crowds of vehicles. Guests often find themselves the only vehicle around, giving spectacular, unspoiled views of exciting wildlife. Encounter Mara is hidden away in a forest on the banks of the Olmorijio River and each living area allows views over the surrounding plains and valley. The camp has been built with minimal impact to the surrounding environment and the canvas structures melt into the bush. Giraffe and zebra are daily seen drifting past the camp, along with a host of other plains game and colourful birdlife. The salt lick directly in front of the camp is a popular source of natural minerals for a variety of animals and guests may often feel the urge to simply remain in the comfort of the camp and watch the unfolding of events with a cold drink in hand. No pathways cross in front of guest tents and private verandas and hammocks give ample opportunity to soak in the ambiance in complete and blissful privacy. Each of Encounter Mara’s twelve spacious tents features their own private veranda with a view over the surrounding savannah. Tents are constructed out of canvas and natural materials and furnished with handmade furniture. With a generous spacing between tents, guests have an entirely private space for personal relaxation. DAY 1: LUSAKA / MFUWE / SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK
On arrival at Lusaka International Airport, Zambia, you will be met by our representative and assisted with immigration and customs clearing, then check in for your flight to Mfuwe, South Luangwa. The flight is on average one hour. Upon arrival at Mfuwe Airport, you will be met and transferred to Luangwa River Camp, traveling through colorful villages. Depending on your arrival time you may settle in for some lunch, then off on an afternoon activity. There is an option to turn back after sun-downers or continue to see what nocturnals you can spot, returning to camp in the evening. Overnight Luangwa River Camp. (LD)The ten bedded camp is situated opposite the Luangwa Wafwa (a game rich area of the park) in the Upper Lupande Game Management Area. It offers all the creature comforts of a lodge yet with all the intimacy, tailored activities and flexible mealtimes you come to expect from a bush camp. The camp is unique with its décor of locally crafted and handmade details. The main area is elevated between 1-3 metres on wooden decks affording great views to the park and river. The swimming pool is sunk into the deck, linked by a waterfall. Seating areas are all elevated and open plan with a bar area as well as a dining and reading area.

DAY 2: SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK
You can spend the day as you wish – an option is there to take a walking activity or game drive; or even both. For those with a knack for shopping: they can take a trip to Tribal Textiles for locally printed fabrics which are sewn into various items – perfect for souvenirs or gifts for friends and family. Perhaps a trip to Kawaza Village to experience an authentic Zambian village; interact with the locals and even sample a local meal. Nothing is set in stone; you can discuss your specific interests with your guide. Overnight Luangwa River Camp.

DAY 3: SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK – LUANGWA RIVER CAMP / NSEFU CAMP
After an early breakfast, a transfer game drive through the park takes you to a crossing point on the Luangwa River. Enjoy lunch at the camp, followed by an afternoon game drive. Overnight Nsefu Camp.The Nsefu Sector was recognized as a phenomenal area and it still is. Robin Pope Safaris owns the only two camps in this sector of the Park. There are six round rondavels with luxurious en suite facilities and each room has a clear view of the sweeping bend of the Luangwa River through large windows and from the wooden verandas. From the dining room lunch can be enjoyed whilst watching large herds of elephants making their daily river crossing just upstream from camp. The bar and sitting area sit snugly between a large termite mound and lagoon, unobtrusive and cosy but making the most of the extensive wildlife that comes down to the lagoon to drink – lion and leopard can also be heard lapping away at the refreshing water in the evenings

DAY 4: SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK
A full day to drive or walk through the ebony groves. Or you may decide this is an ideal day, depending on the heat and time of year, to explore the Nsefu Sector of the National Park possibly with an all day picnic drive to the salt pans that will cover different habitats and is an exceptional day’s safari. DAY 5: SOUTH LUANGWA / MFUWE / LILONGWE / LAKE MALAWI
After breakfast you will transfer to Mfuwe Airport for your scheduled flight to Lilongwe. The flight time to Lilongwe is approximately 50 minutes. On arrival at Lilongwe’s Kamuzu Airport, you will be met for your scenic overland transfer to Lake Malawi.Pumulani is situated on the Westside of the Nankumba Peninsula in the South end of Lake Malawi – romantically called “The Lake of Stars”. The ten villas are scattered around the hillside and are individual in shape and style but all have a spacious bedroom, bathroom and extensive sitting area. The front sliding doors open onto the deck – elevated above the ground giving optimal views. The central dining and bar area is high above the lake with the most spectacular views and leads onto an expansive deck. The infinity swimming pool is on a lower terraced deck. The lake shore bar offers light snacks as well as refreshments. Meals will be served in the dining area, on the beach or by arrangement on your private deck. Full day sightseeing with lunch. Depart to The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust’s Elephant Orphanage situated on the outskirts of Nairobi. Here, you will seet he orphaned animals and meet the people who handle and care for these animals. It’s an interesting 1-hour visit and the team who run the orphanage are always willing to spend time answering any questions guests have. From here, proceed to the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden for lunch. The Historic Swedo House at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden and Cottages, Ltd. was the original hunting lodge/farm house which was built around 1906 to 1908. Following lunch, head to the Karen Blixen Museum. Once owned by Danish Author Karen and her Swedish Husband, Baron Bror, and based at the foot of the Ngong Hills, the farm house gained international fame with the release of the movie ‘Out of Africa’, an Oscar winning film based on Karen’s autobiography by the same title. Later visit the Giraffe Centre, where the endangered Rothschild giraffe lives. With an elevated viewing-cum-feeding platform, this tour is also wonderful for children of all ages. (BL)
